“Always Have… Always Will”

“All moments, past, present, and future, always have existed, always will exist” (Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five, 27) if that is true, or at least an interesting new thought, shouldn’t/can’t we take joy in things that have given us joy in the past? This idea made me attempt to collect the memories of simple things that made me smile this week:

-my new houndstooth purse (from Sam Moon)

-cuddles with my 18 year old cat

-a quick (but wildly successful) trip to Half Price Books

-getting a new bottle of mouthwash (I know, I’m a real cheap date)

-an exclusive, one-day-only 20% off coupon (at miniatures.com) for furnishings for my Victorian dollhouse

-a good sour pickle

-seeing the “Gotham” building in downtown Austin

-seeing many dragonflies throughout the week

-old favorites [songs] that come up when my iPod is on Shuffle

-finding nuggets of wisdom in old books

-spending my grandma’s 86th birthday with her and all of the funny things she said

What made you smile this week? Did recalling those moments make you feel the initial joy again?
